The correct answer to this question was to avoid embarrassing the person by unnecessarily rebuking them publicly in front of the group. So, you want to NOT say something like: “That is a rabbit trail, and it is wasting our time and causing us to lose focus on the question. Please don’t do that!”
You may wish to speak to them about this in private after the meeting, but please do not say something that would publicly embarrass them. |
