One of the most effective things you can do to encourage thoughtful discussion is to be quiet for an uncomfortably long time after you ask a question waiting for someone to say something, which will then also tend to get the rest of group engaged in the discussion. TRUE (doing this might be uncomfortable and awkward, but it actually works to get people talking more deeply and honestly about the things that are important to Jesus) FALSE (that would be rude, uncomfortable, and awkward and is not a loving thing to do)
