Lesson 7: Question #1

Here is a short list of the things that will help you encourage openness and honesty in your group discussions. These are all things that an effective leader will be focused on. Which one of these do you think will be most difficult for you? Stick to the questions in the leaders Guide. Encourage your group participants to talk about what they are genuinely thinking, and not to be concerned about giving the “right answer.” Model openness and honesty yourself by sometimes giving a brief example of how you have struggled with applying the concept being addressed. As people in your group are sharing, be silently asking the Lord to give you wisdom about how to encourage them to openness and honesty. Be asking the Lord to help you maintain an attitude of humility, sincerity, and respect before Him and toward members in your group. I do not expect to have difficulty with any of the above.
